Microscope images of four channels with tracked particle trajectories shown. Each line represents the translocation of a single particle through the channel. Two types of channels, without and with central cavities (top row, bottom row respectively), were studied in this work. Dimensions represent the length and width of the channel. In the case of the channels with cavities, widths of the narrow and wide sections are given. Line color represents lateral displacement from the channel axis. The trajectories indicate that the particles consistently follow streamlines in their approach towards, translocation through, and departure from the channel.
