Scheme of the total hardware implementation. A central computer controls the syringe pump, camera, and data acquisition (DAQ) card. Fluid is driven through tubes to the device via the syringe pump. A high-speed camera is mounted on to the microscope, and the microfluidic device is placed on the microscope stage. The DAQ card is connected to the electronics in the circuit, which are connected to the device via electrodes.
