  1. Three biological replicate pools of 40 mosquitoes per treatment were used for chemical analysis. Deltamethrin was determined using Gas Chromatography coupled to an Electron Capture Detector (GC-ECD), PBO and dicyclohexyl phthalate by Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Dicyclohexyl phthalate was used as control since it has a similar structure to deltamethrin and is not metabolised by the insects. The figures represent the means with standard deviations (SD) of the chemical contents. ng = nanogram. p-value < 0.05 indicates a significant difference according to the Wilcoxon rank sum test.
