The subcellular localisations of the enzymes are indicated according to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Genome Database (SGD). A generic peroxisomal NADH redox shuttle for reoxidation of NADH to NAD+ is depicted in red. (B) Diagram of the malate/oxaloacetate shuttle and glycerol-3-phosphate/dihydroxyacetone phosphate shuttle, exchanging peroxisomal NADH for cytosolic NAD+. Gpd1p provides the peroxisomal glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity. In the cytosol this may be provided by Gpd2p or by cytosolic Gpd1p.
