Morphological analysis of a-PbO samples: (a) SEM of a-PbO cross-section; (b) SEM micrograph of the a-PbO surface; (c) EDS of the surface. Red color represents Pb atoms and green color is for oxygen. It should be noted that the signal from Pb is stronger than that from O (typical for EDS measurements), therefore picture looks more red, while material is perfectly stoichiometric46.
