Purified PSM fragments were subjected to SDS-PAGE and either stained for protein with Coomassie Blue or for the bound bilin by zinc-induced fluorescence. (b) UV-Vis absorption and difference spectra of dark-adapted samples (Pr, red) and samples irradiated to steady state with 230 μmolm−2s−1 of 630-nm red light (RL, purple). The difference spectra are shown at 70% total amplitude. The absorption and difference maxima/minima are indicated.
