Comparison of the ratio of monocyte subpopulations in the blood circulation of PCD patients and healthy controls. The number of (a) classic (CD14++CD16−), (b) intermediate (CD14++CD16+) and (c) non-classic (CD14+CD16++) monocytes in the blood circulation of PCD patients (PCD), age-matched healthy pediatric controls (Ped CO) and healthy adult controls (Ad CO) was determined by flow cytometry. The proportion of each monocyte subpopulation was calculated by dividing the number of monocytes in one subpopulation by the total number of detected monocytes (*p < 0.05; Mann Whitney U-test).
