Infrared Spectroscopy of Muskeg and Modified Composites. FTIR spectra of wet, dried, and modified muskeg, and an amorphous SiO2 control sample prepared by reacting only Na2SiO3 with NH4OH. The stabilization of a siloxane –Si-O-Si- framework and the substantial reduction of water content is clearly established.
