From: Mercury evasion from a boreal peatland shortens the timeline for recovery from legacy pollution

Annual Hg mass balance at the Degerö Stormyr peatland (June 18, 2013 – June 17, 2014). Net emission of gaseous elemental Hg (GEM) and total Hg (THg) in discharge are the major Hg output pathways. Wet bulk deposition is considered as the only Hg input pathway. The units for the flux represented by each arrow are in µg m−2 yr−1. Uncertainties for GEM flux, total Hg inputs in wet bulk deposition and outputs in stream discharge are indicated (see section “Methods” for details).
