Diabetes progression and endothelial dysfunction in db/db mice. (A,B) The intraperitoneal glucose tolerance test (IPGTT) for control db/+ and db/db mice. (C) The area under the curve (AUC) in the IPGTT revealed a significant increase in the blood glucose concentration and indicated development of hyperglycaemia and an altered response to the glucose test consistent with insulin resistance. (D) Progressive increase in glycated haemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) content. (E) Progressive decline in NO production by the aorta (nd – non detectable). (F) Average mouse body weight.
