Phosphohydrolysis of cADPR. This is the reaction catalysed by a minor activity of mammalian ADPRibase-Mn51,55 and the very major activity of the artificial cADPR phosphohydrolase developed in this study by mutagenic engineering. The left-hand side ribose residue corresponds to the so-called ‘northern’ ribose.
