The 4 synthesised peptide analogues. (A) Chemical structures of parent compound (Arg0) and its chemical analogues. For all 3 compounds, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, 2 esters functional groups have been added to the chemical structure to replace the 2 carboxylic acids at position A&B. (B) A table summary of the purity of synthesised peptide analogues and the various pKa changes to the specific atoms of the amino acid side chains. In general, the pKa favours that of deprotonation, thus reducing the formation of charged ions. In silico prediction of pKa is performed via ACD/Labs Percepta platform.
