Iron binding by FlaR. The extent of Fe2+ staining by ferrozine was monitored in iron ammonium sulfate solution in PBS (control), PBS supplemented with BSA (BSA), PBS supplemented with rATCase (rATCase), EDTA, rFlaR refolded at pH 8.0 (rFlaR (pH 8.0)) and rFlaR refolded in the presence Fe2+ iron ions (Fe2+). The results presented are the mean of three different experiments (one way ANOVA with Dunnett’s post hoc multiple comparisons test, n = 3 in each group, ****p = 0.0001).
