NPD8716 impaired the transporter activity of NTCP. NTCP-dependent bile acid uptake was evaluated by treating HepG2-hNTCP-C4 cells with [3H]-taurocholic acid (TCA) in the presence or absence of the indicated compounds (100 nM preS1 peptide, 30, 90, or 270 μM NPD8716) in the sodium-containing buffer as described in Methods.
