Macroscopic and microscopic views of native and decellularized tissue constructs. Native left-ventricular slab of porcine origin and left ventricular derived decellularized pcECM scaffold (a, upper and lower panels, respectively). The pcECM is heterogeneous and comprises areas of dense collagen (stronger white color) adjacent to more spacious ECM (pale shades).
