Data are presented as individual data points for uninfected (, n = 33) and infected (, n = 15) animals. Semi-transparent boxplots represent standard distribution of data. Within each treatment (infected or uninfected), slough groups with different letters above them are significantly different from one another. Significant differences between treatments for each slough group were indicated as asterisks. Summary statistics are presented in Tables S1, S2 and S3.
