C/EBP-α is acetylated in HSCs and its main acetylation site is the residue K276. (A) Western blot showed that C/EBP-α immunoprecipitated from HSC-T6 and LX-2 cell lysates was acetylated. (B) Acetylation of C/EBP-α was enhanced in the presence of TSA and NAM. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01 compared to no treatment group. (C) Sequence alignment of a potential acetylation site in C/EBP-α and other proteins as indicated. (D) Mutation of K276 significantly decreased C/EBP-α acetylation. The indicated plasmids were transfected into 293 T cells, and proteins were immunoprecipitated for Western blot. **p < 0.01 compared to C/EBP-α group.
