Double knockdown of CD9/CD81 results in reduced SIRT1 expression, thereby increasing apoptosis and decreasing cell proliferation. (a) siRNA knockdown of CD9 and CD81 in epithelial cells downregulated the expression of Foxo3a, but not that of Klotho, ATR and SIRT6. Reciprocally, expression of p53 and p21 was upregulated.
