The same left thyroid nodule of a female patient (46 years) was observed for more than 6 years, and changes in the nodule were observed using US images. (A) In August 2008, the nodular size found using US was 0.8 × 0.8 cm2, with regular shape and without microcalcification; the diagnosis was benign. (B) In September 2013, the nodular size was 1.2 × 1.1 cm2, with irregular shape and edge angulation, and scattered microcalcification inside the nodule; the diagnosis was suspected malignancy. (C,D) In September 2014, the nodular size was 1.3 × 1.1 cm2, with irregular shape, scattered microcalcification in both the nodule and the left central lymph node medulla; the diagnosis was left thyroid cancer and CNM.
