Number of genes encoding carbohydrate active enzymes (CAZymes) and plant cell wall degrading enzymes (PCWDE) in Cadophora sp., Periconia macrospinosa and other 35 fungi including three further DSE species. Major CAZyme classes are shown separately, including Glycoside Hydrolases (GH), Glycoside Transferases (GT), Polysaccharide Lyases (PL), Carbohydrate Esterases (CE), Carbohydrate-Binding Modules (CBM), and Auxiliary redox enzymes (AA). After each species name, its type of lifestyle is indicated as follows: red (ap/e; animal pathogens/endophytes), brown (sap; saprotrophs), green (plp; plant pathogens), black (dse, dark septate endophytes), blue (myc; mycorrhizal fungi), or pink (ap; animal pathogen).
