Simvastatin inhibits migration in melanoma cells independent of the growth stage. Human melanoma cells, WM35, WM793b and A375, were prepared for scratch assay and then treated in the absence (A) and presence of Simvastatin (10 µM; Sim), L-alanine (100 µg/ml; Ala), L-glutamic acid (200 µg/ml; Glu) or their combinations. Data points represent the mean ± SD (n = 4). Statistical significance was performed with one-way ANOVA and post hoc Dunnett’s test; asterisks denote significance versus untreated control cells: *P < 0.05; **P < 0.005.
