(a) The correlation between the estimated number of trapped particles and the ionic strength of the solution at pH 7.0. Each experiment was conducted using a 1 μm pipette under 10 V/cm and the data was collected at 100 seconds after the positive voltage was applied at the base of the pipette. (b) The trajectory (black arrows) of the beads motion before getting trapped at the tip, (0, 0) point. (c) The velocity of the COOH-PS beads suspended in solutions with different salt concentrations with respect to their distance from the tip, point (0, 0). The distance was obtained from the particles’ coordinate with respect to the pipette’s tip as shown in figure b).
