RSV increases the numbers of neutrophils that migrate through infected A549 monolayers The percentage of neutrophils that migrated through mock and RSV infected A549 monolayers after (A) 24 hours, (B) 48 h, (C) 72 h or (D) 96 hours post-infection was quantified. Neutrophils were exposed to infected A549 epithelial cells submerged in fresh HBSS+ or the conditioned supernatant produced from the same cells prior to migration (RSV and mock infected). The neutrophil chemoattractant N-Formylmethionine-leucyl-phenylalanine (fMLP) was used as a positive control. Bars show mean ± SEM of n = 3/4 biological repeats. Statistical significance is shown.
