Correlation analysis of total TGF-β2/β3 concentrations in the aqueous humor and luciferase activity. Data are presented as scatter plots. In controls (a) and naïve AMD patients (b), a correlation was found between the concentrations of total TGF-β2/β3 and SMAD2/3 activation, expressed as luciferase activity. The significance of correlations was tested using Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient (r). P (two-tailed) values are indicated. No correlation was found in the treated sample groups (c,d).
