Hippuristanol (Hipp) decreases IL-6 mRNA expression and secretion in IT-treated myotubes. (A) ELISA was performed to detect IL-6 levels in the supernatants from myotubes treated with or without IT in the presence or absence of Hipp (100 nM and 200 nM) and plotted ± s.e.m *p < 0.05 Student’s T-test (n = 3). (B) RT-PCR was performed using RNA extracted from myotubes treated as described in (A) and the resulting cDNA was quantified using qPCR with primers against IL-6.
