Gene array analysis and expression of Notch pathway genes. Total RNA was isolated from the jejunum or the lungs (n = 3 per group) of the BALB/c mice described in Fig. 1. 100 ng RNA was analyzed by the nCounter PanCancer mouse pathway Panel (NanoString Technologies) containing 770 genes, according to the manufacturer’s protocol as described in Materials and Methods. (a) List of select genes differentially expressed in the lungs of control and Tg6F treated mice that were greater than 1.5-fold upregulated or downregulated with a p-value < 0.05. Genes belonging to Notch family were upregulated while others including osteopontin (Spp1) were downregulated. (b) Heat map of Notch family genes in lung tissue obtained from control and Tg6F groups (n = 3 per group).
