H&E and PB stained liver sections from (A,E) control, (B,F) mild fibrosis, (C,G) moderate fibrosis and (D,H) reversal of fibrosis animals. H&E stained section of mild fibrosis shows fatty changes (white arrows), ballooning of hepatocytes (red arrows) and nodule formation (circle) compared to control. These changes are prominent in moderate fibrosis than mild fibrosis. Liver section from reversal appears similar to the control liver. PB stained section of mild fibrosis, moderate fibrosis and reversal showing presence of iron (blue spots). Iron content is highest in moderate fibrosis and lowest in reversal.
