Flow chart of the study. A total of 20 subjects were enrolled in this study and underwent randomisation. Ten of them were assigned to take UDCA (300 mg twice daily), and the other 10 were treated with vitamin E (400 IU twice daily) for 8 weeks. During this period, one subject withdrew from the UDCA group for a personal reason after 4 weeks and therefore, was excluded from data analysis. The total number of subjects included in the final analysis was nine for the UDCA group and 10 for the vitamin E group.
