Flt3 ligand pretreatment fails to increase the expression of type I IFNs in infected wild-type mice and to protect mice with type I IFN receptor deficiency from infection. Infected C57BL6/J mice were pretreated with saline or Flt3 ligand. Levels of IFN-α (A) and IFN-β (B) in mouse sera at the indicated times are shown.
