Effect of vector control on chikungunya case counts for six regions in Colombia. We simulated epidemic scenarios with seven different strategies of spatial targeting. We initiated each epidemic by introducing new CHIKV infections in 1% of mosquitos per day in the city of Turbaco (red dot) in the Caribe region during the first 10 days, after which each epidemic spread through the country. We show the simulated case counts that occurred in each region as the average of 8 simulations for each scenario. For each region, we show the observed case counts (black dots) compared to the simulated counts for each of the seven strategies. Maps were generated in R v.3.2.3 (https://www.r-project.org).
