From: Impaired microcirculation after subarachnoid hemorrhage in an in vivo animal model

Effect of nitroglycerin (NTG) on the vasoconstrictive effect of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from rats (rCSF) with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Arteriolar diameters were measured by capillary videoscopy. rCSF of SAH rats was applied on the brain surface for 120 min (B) then NTG of different concentrations was added (C–F). The vasoconstrictive effect of rCSF was reversible by application of nitroglycerin in a dose-dependent manner. The vasodilation effects were particularly obvious in the secondary and terminal arterioles (G–I).
