From: USP4 positively regulates RLR-induced NF-κB activation by targeting TRAF6 for K48-linked deubiquitination and inhibits enterovirus 71 replication

Figure 1

The expression of USP4 is inhibited upon EV71 infection in vitro and in vivo. (A) PCR array analysis of different gene expression levels of human DUBs in RD cells infected with EV71 for 8 h. (B) q-PCR analysis of the EV71/VP1 gene expression levels in the left-hind limb muscle tissue from EV71-infected AG129 mice. (C) q-PCR analysis of USP4 gene expression levels in the left-hind limb muscle tissue from EV71-infected AG129 mice. (D) The USP4 expression in EV71-infected RD cells (MOI = 0.5) was analysed by q-PCR at different time points. (E) The expression of USP4 and EV71/VP1 in EV71-infected RD cells (MOI = 0.5) was analysed by western blot at different time points. The EV71/VP1 protein expression was used as a control for viral infection. Data in (AD) are shown relative to GAPDH expression and are presented as the mean ± SD, from three independent experiments. USP4 and VP1 are shown relative to GAPDH expression and are presented as the mean ± SD.*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, and ***P < 0.001. The independent experiments were performed in triplicate.
