(A) Time evolution of the kinetically defined states P1P4 in the presence of lower (e.g. 10 mM, upper panel) and higher (e.g. 1,000 mM, lower panel) concentrations of Cl. Cl conducting and non-conducting states of PsuACR1 are shown as red and blue lines, respectively. (B) The amount of M in the P3 state (black) is plotted against the logarithm of the Cl concentration. The amount was calculated by subtracting the absorbance at 400 nm in the initial P0 state from that in the P3 state for M at each Cl concentration.
