ADP released by GlgA from ADPG entering the cell can feed the adenine nucleotide pool. Growth of ΔpurA and ΔpurAΔglgA cells cultured in liquid M9 medium supplemented with 2% (v/v) glycerol (M9-glycerol) with or without 100 μM adenine or ADPG supplementation. Values represent means ± SE obtained from four independent experiments with 3 replicates for each experiment.
