Double-label immunofluorescent studies of p53-binding protein 1 (53BP1) (green) and Ki-67 (red) in urothelial tissues. The normal urothelium (a) and urothelial papilloma (b) show low and high DNA damage response types of 53BP1 expression, while both the low-grade (c) and high-grade (d) urothelial carcinomas (UC) show the diffuse expression type. Nuclei showing co-localization of 53BP1 and Ki-67 immunoreactivity were observed in UC tissues (c,d), and were more frequent in high-grade UC (d). The scale bars indicate 10 µm.
