Correlations between the concentration of pro-collagen I α1 in BEC-HLF supernatant following HLF co-culture with asthmatic BECs (n = 21, open triangles) and the lung function measures FEV1% predicted (A), FEF25–75% predicted (B), and FEV1/FVC ratio (C) of asthmatic BEC donors were calculated using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Correlations between the concentration of pro-collagen I α1 in BEC-HLF supernatant following HLF co-culture with healthy BECs (n = 11, open circles) and the lung function measures FEV1% predicted (D), FEF25–75% predicted (E), and FEV1/FVC ratio (F) of healthy BEC donors were calculated using the Pearson correlation coefficient.
