Immunohistochemistry of ZO-1, Na+/K+-ATPase and phalloidin. Histological examination of corneal tissue taken from the rabbit eye 6 weeks after transplantation (Top panel: EMT-RCECs group, middle panel: Scrape-group, bottom panel: Fresh RCECs group). Monolayer of hexagonal cells were observed in the Fresh RCECs group and Scrape-group. Irregular fibroblastic cells were observed in the EMT-RCECs group. The expression of ZO-1 and Na+/K+-ATPase was evident in Scrape-group and Fresh RCECs group, but it was not observed in the EMT-RCECs group. Scale bar = 100 μm.
