Effect of overexpression of YidC on in vitro growth of bacteria. Bacterial growth was observed by measuring OD600 of broth cultures of M. smegmatis (A,B) or M. tuberculosis (C,D) transformed with either empty vector (control), pTetR-yidC(Msm) or pTetR-yidC(Mtb) treated with 50 ng/ml ATc for designated time points. Mean values ± s.d. of at least three repeat experiments are shown. Asterisks represent level of significance as determined by paired Student’s t-test (P < 0.05).
