Characterization of LTA production and YfnI activity in vivo. LTA detection by western blot. The different B. subtilis strains were grown at 37 °C in CE minimum medium supplemented with 0.5% gluconate for 6 hours. 1 ml aliquots were removed, samples prepared and analyzed by western blot using anti-LTA antibodies as previously described9. Sizes of protein standards run in parallel are shown in the left of the panel. The figure is made by grouping two independent cropped blots treated in the same conditions.
