Quantitation of serum cell-free DNA in between groups using capture enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Increased NET formation was detected in the vehicle-control groups compared with the sham group (***P < 0.001). DNase-1 intervention significantly decreased NET formation (**P < 0.01 versus the vehicle-control group). Data are expressed as mean ± SEM (n = 15–20 per group).
