Features of LH samplings of model parameters and dynamic patterns of incidence. Here shown are dynamic patterns caused by two asynchronous strains that interact within the secondary infection. The basic reproduction number R0 = 1.7 is assumed. Panel (a) shows the maximum degree of contacts is 16.2 while panels (b) and (c) show that the critical degree for the asynchronous strains is κac = 6.0. In panels (d–l) the blue points represent the parameter values when contact degrees κ  ≤ κac and the red points for those with contact degrees κ > κac. The three values above each panel represent the correlation coefficients between the two variables for all values, the values when κ ≤ κac, and the values when κ > κac.
