Representative images and corresponding scores for CD-1 and C57BL/6 N control mice at baseline, 8 h and 48 h postcraniotomy. CD-1 images were scored using 5 action units, orbital tightening, nose bulge, cheek bulge, ear change and whisker change. All of the action units except for whisker change were scored for C57Bl/6 N due to the poor detection of whiskers in the dark colored mice.
