Relationship between DOC yield and mean annual runoff (a), mean surface slope (b) and soil organic carbon (c) of the worldwide rivers from Ludwig, et al.12 and our SMRs: Chi-Chia-Wan (red), Li-Wu (orange), and Bei-Shi (blue) River. The data from Ludwig, et al.12 were divided into three biome types: tropical (dark green), temperate (light green), and tundra and taiga (yellow). Additionally, the DOC yields of Arctic rivers (yellow cross) were from Guo, et al.34, Kaiser, et al.33, and Raymond, et al.25.
