From: Real time observation of binder jetting printing process using high-speed X-ray imaging

Schematic of the high-speed X-ray imaging experiments on binder jetting process at beam line 32-ID-B, Advanced Photon Source. A short-period undulator was used to generate a pseudo pink X-ray beam with first harmonic energy of 25.4 keV. The binder droplets impacted the powder bed from the top and the X-rays penetrated the sample from the side. The imaging detector was placed downstream, about 400 mm away from the sample. Shutters and slits were used to define the time window and size of the X-ray beam respectively.
