Pooled estimated spore loads (relativized to host Actin counts) for sham inoculated vs. Nosema inoculated bees over all colonies. While most control bees were infected with Nosema, given that they lived and interacted in the same colonies, the treated bees had significantly higher spore counts (more than twice as high as control bees, (t on ranked data = −2.478, df = 146, P = 0.014). Boxplots are shown.
