Flow cytometric analysis of B, T, memory B and T cells upon stimulation with recombinant open reading frame 2 protein (rORF2p). Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 13 acute hepatitis E patients, 10 hepatitis E recovered individuals, and 13 healthy controls were cultured in the presence/absence of rORF2p. After 72 hrs, cells were harvested, stained and acquired on flow cytometer. Frequencies of rORF2p-stimulated (a) B, (b) TH, (c) TC, (d) memory B, (e) memory TH and (f) memory TC cells were determined after normalization with unstimulated cells. Data are presented as percentage of immune cells out of lymphocytes. The dots represent individual values and bars represent median values.
