Scheme of injection protocols and outcome measures. Collagenase was injected in Achilles tendons of SD rats (n = 12) for two successive days to induce tendinopathy. In the experimental groups, normal saline, HA hydrogel or EGCG-loaded hydrogel were injected on day 3. The control group received a saline injection on days 1, 2 and 3.
