Temperature change of water (V = 2 ml) in a closed system incubated using bead-beating at 10 Hz with different amounts of beads (0, 150, 250 and 500 mg) and an ultra-sonication bath over 30 min (n = 3). Ultra-sonication showed a linear relation (R2 = 0.87) whereas logarithmic relations were found for bead-beating (R20mg = 0.77, R2150mg = 0.86, R2300mg = 0.83, R2500mg = 0.85) which plateaued after 10 min regardless the amount of beads.
