High sequence similarity between the ABA receptors of P. aegyptiaca and of A. thaliana in regions key to functionality. Alignment of residues which interact with ABA (black asterisks) or HAB1 (red asterisks), according to the crystal structures of PYL2-ABA13 and PYR1-HAB117. Amino acid sequences are color-coded according to side chain characteristics. PaPYL5 JV is the variant which was amplified from a sample obtained in the Jezreel Valley (Israel).
