NT-proBNP increases with age linearly; however, we separated the patient population into two groups (at age 75). Older patients had significantly higher NT-proBNP than younger patients. (C,D) Relationship between age and sex with NT-proBNP. Sex was more closely associated in the elderly patient population (C) (red column, women; Blue column, men), while no sex association was observed in younger patients. Higher NT-proBNP was observed in women than in men among older patients (D). P-values were checked by nonparametric test.
